Eligibility:
Normally Fellowships will be open to advanced scholars from the post doctoral to the full professorial level. (Candidates should expect to have their doctorates in hand no later than the summer after they apply.) Fellows will be expected to be in residence for one or two academic semesters. Where appropriate, Fellows will be expected to work together with scholars in relevant departments at Columbia.

Scholarship Description: Columbia’s Italian Academy invites applications for projects in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences. In the humanities and social sciences, projects may address any aspect of cultural memory, history, and anthropology; the relationship between contemporary and historical cultures; and the histories of art, music, literature, and philosophy. In the fields of science, technology, and engineering, applications that relate to Columbia’s strengths will be welcomed. Special consideration will be given to proposals in the neurosciences relevant to the Academy’s ongoing project in Art and Neuroscience. Three Alexander Bodini Research Fellowships are also offered: in Developmental and Adolescent Psychiatry; in Culture and Religion; and in Global Development and Finance.
